SPAR Go Far With Health Push

Scotland's minister for Public Health, Sport and Wellbeing has visited a Spar store in Dundee to see the work of the SGF Healthy Living Programme up close.

Joe FitzPatrick was at Spar MacAlpine Road along with local schoolchildren and CJ Lang chief executive Colin McLean.

Running since 2004, the Healthy Living Programme connects local schools with convenience retailers and helps to highlight healthier products available in stores.

Programme director Kathryn Neil, said: “Today was a fantastic opportunity for Mr FitzPatrick to witness first hand the work that both the Healthy Living team and Spar are undertaking  to ensure their future customers are considering their purchases and learning about the benefits of eating a healthier diet”.

Colin McLean said: “We are supportive of the SGF Healthy Living Programme and were delighted to welcome Minister Joe FitzPatrick to Spar MacAlpine Road.

“It is very important that we continue to encourage young people to embark on a healthy lifestyle and eat healthily.”
