What is a Welby Breakfast
The Welby Breakfast is an initiative designed to bring schools and local retailers together to encourage healthy eating habits in children. Through engaging and interactive events, pupils get to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, learn about making healthier food choices, and build connections with their local convenience stores.

How the Event Works
With support from the Healthy Living Programme and local retailers, schools can create a fun and engaging experience that encourages pupils to make nutritious choices. Here’s how it works:
1. Setup & Preparation
On the morning of the event the HLP team will prepare a space with tables (provided by hosting school), food stations & banners to create a welcoming breakfast setting.
2. Stations & Tasting
2. Breakfast is served - The pupils will then be served at their seats a sample of biscuit based cereal & milk, toast with banana & a variety of fresh fruit.
3. Interactive Learning & Engagement
The Healthy Living Programme team makes the event engaging by educating pupils on the benefits of a balanced diet, helping them understand why breakfast is an important start to the day.
4. Vouchers & Follow-Up
Each pupil receives a Welby Breakfast voucher to redeem at their local participating store, reinforcing the message of healthy eating beyond the school setting.
On the morning of the event, the hosting school will prepare a space with tables, food stations, and banners to create a welcoming breakfast setting.
Pupils will move through stations where they can sample: Weetabix with semi-skimmed milk, toast with banana & a variety of fresh fruits
