Hillview Primary's final Welby Breakfast yesterday served 235 meals! Carol Mochan MSP witnessed the powerful impact of the Healthy Living Programme on pupils. Huge thanks to Scotmid and SGF for their support in fueling young minds and ensuring a great start to the summer.
What a fantastic morning we had at Hillview Primary School yesterday, marking our final Welby Breakfast before the summer holidays! It was a day filled with energy, community spirit, and a clear demonstration of the positive impact our Healthy Living Programme (HLP) has on young lives.
We were absolutely delighted to host Carol Mochan, the Scottish Labour MSP for South Scotland. Ms. Mochan joined us to witness firsthand the incredible difference these breakfasts make to the pupils. Her visit highlighted the importance of initiatives like the Welby Breakfast in supporting children's well-being and academic readiness.
This successful morning wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible partners. A huge thank you goes out to the amazing team from Scotmid Co-op – Margaret-Ann, Gavin, Charles, and Lynn – for their continued dedication and hard work. We also extend a special shout-out to Luke from the Scottish Grocers' Federation (SGF) for joining us.
On this busy final breakfast, we were thrilled to serve a total of 235 breakfasts, ensuring every student had a nutritious start to their day.
As the school year winds down and the summer holidays approach, we reflect on the success of the Welby Breakfasts events. We're incredibly proud of the positive impact we've made together with the schools, our partners, and the wider community. We look forward to continuing our mission to fuel young minds and bodies when the students return for a new academic year!
